[RESOLVED] YouTube video loops
When I try to watch any YouTube video — be it embedded or on youtube.com, fullscreen or not — I often get the same problem. The sound plays correctly, but the video becomes a short loop less than 1 second long from the point where I started playback. Sometimes it is mixed with frames from previous loops.
Observed with NoScript version 2.9.5.3rc6 or 2.9.5.3. Firefox 50.1.0 under Gentoo Linux AMD64. Only domains youtube.com, ytimg.com and googlevideo.com were enabled. Everything worked fine with the previous stable version of NoScript. Works fine in a profile without add-ons. Loops in a profile with only NoScript with default settings.
Some videos occasionally play correctly, for example this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZYOJuKaSFRg , but most of the time they all loop too.

Re: YouTube video loops
Small update: the chances of playing video correctly seem higher, if the video quality is low (144p).

Re: YouTube video loops
This sounds like a video codecs problem, not a NoScript problem.

It worked fine before the update. It works fine with NoScript disabled.barbaz wrote:This sounds like a video codecs problem, not a NoScript problem.

When this issue occurs, can you please right-click the video and select "Stats for nerds", and post here the result?

Re: YouTube video loops
The only real difference I notice from my output (on the same video) is the first number under DASH. I tried to look up what it means but I don't fully understand it.
Something about "itag", I think?
Are you able to try it on a different Linux distro, either as a live USB or virtual machine?
