[Unrelated] HMRC requires scripts enabled everywhere?

Post by Guest »

I use noscript with Firefox and have for years. I've just gone to file my taxes and find that the site insists I have javascript enabled, even though it is enabled for everything on the page. I've had no problems with this in the past, so I'm trying to figure out if the revenue's code has changed, noscript has changed, Firefox has changed or I've just screwed something up.

The site is https://www.tax.service.gov.uk/gg/sign- ... in=unknown. I understand that it requires javascript. It always has, but it has never complained that I have javascript disabled after I've enabled it for the site.

Am I missing something obvious here? I feel sure I'm being an idiot ....

What NoScript version are you using?

Never mind. It needs javascript-protection-on-login switched off. I'm not sure if this is even anything to do wit noscript, but maybe this will save somebody else my headaches! (Or, at least, save them their equivalents of my headaches. I doubt they need saving from my headaches, strictly speaking.)

It is rather worrying thins has to be switched off ...

Thanks for replying. I apologise for the noise. For some reason, I can spend days tearing my hair out only to suddenly figure something out right after asking for help. I don't think this is anything to do with noscript. Even enabling javascript everywhere didn't help. It still claimed javascript was disabled. However, deactivating protection on login did help. But I don't think that's a noscript feature, so there is nothing relevant here at all. Again, many apologies for the clutter/noise.
