[RESOLVED] noscript.net/about page is missing buttons
It appears to automatically allow the named page without asking in release 2.9.5.2 on my new Firefox 50.1 install in a Windows 7 computer

Re: noscript.net/about page is missing buttons
On other installations, when noscript encountered a script form a non-whitelisted source, it would ask if I wanted to allow it or not. I could middle click on the name and a page would appear with a list of websites that could give more information about that source. That page had buttons to allow or mark as untrusted (if I recall). In this installation there are no buttons and no opportunity to mark the source as untrusted. Noscript automatically starts trusting the source.

Is http: &/or https: in your whitelist?

No. So far I have not manually added anything to the whitelist or allowed anything.

What if you Shift+Leftclick?
Does middle clicking this link open it in a new tab? - viewforum.php?f=7

Re: noscript.net/about page is missing buttons
If I hover over an item in the list that NoScript presents when I click on the Options button and click on the middle button of the three below the spacebar on my brand new Dell Precision 7510 keyboard, nothing happens. That seems to be normal for some of the computers I have tried, I think some mouse drivers just do not recognize the middle button.
If I hold down the left shift button and click the left button of those three, a page appears that closely resembles the noscript.net/about page except there are no allow or mark as untrusted buttons like I see in Firefox on my Ubuntu 12.04 laptop.
Curiously, on my wife's Windows 10 laptop, if I hover over an item in the NoScript pop-up that appears if I hover over the NoScript icon at the top of the Firefox page, a similar page appears if I middle click the Logitech mouse, but it only has one button to Forbid that item. It is hard to find a page that generates the message that some items were blocked on bottom of the Firefox window.
I did a search for the text in the title of this post before I posted it, and found nothing. However, today I saw the item on the first page called General troubleshooting: missing icons/menu, etc. I will read that and try the suggestions that appear to be promising for this issue.
I think that the other machines that I mentioned have different releases of Firefox and possibly NoScript too, as they do not always seem to notice when they are not the latest.

Re: noscript.net/about page is missing buttons
Interesting! I discovered an add-on called Extension Conflict Troubleshooter and installed it to this instance of Firefox. After re-starting Firefox, but before starting the new add-on, I needed to temporarily allow this forum in NoScript. Lo and behold, the Allow and Mark as Untrusted buttons were there and it was possible to navigate to the information sites and back and mark this site as trusted as I have on other machines.
So this thread can be closed, although I do not know how the problem got resolved. Now I will try that on my wife's machine.

Re: noscript.net/about page is missing buttons
I can verify the same behavior as of today under OS X with Firefox 50.1.0, NoScript 2.9.5.2, & Extension Conflict Troubleshooter (FECT) 1.0.1. It's odd that just installing FECT, which is then by default enabled, restores the [Allow] and [Mark $sitename as untrusted] buttons on the NoScript information page for individual Web sites. Turn off the FECT extension, restart Firefox, and they're gone. Turn the FECT extension back on, restart Firefox, and the buttons are back. NB: I don't even have to Firefox -> Tools -> FECT -> "Start a new session" to make it work. Not even using it but just having FECT there and enabled as a menu option seems to do the trick.LoanArranger wrote:Interesting! o Firefox 50.1.0
o NoScript 2.9.5.2
o Extension Conflict Troubleshooter (FECT) 1.0.1
(extension_conflict_troubleshooter_for_firefox-1.0.1-fx.xpi from https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/down ... latest.xpi)
