Just started a couple days ago and just found that disabling Noscript fixes...
I use file:///C:/Temp/WWW/index.html as my home page and save some sites as compressed .maff file format.
Clicking on file open xxxxx.maff or .htm or .html does nothing or clicking on HOME icon does nothing. I CAN however, open the
file:///C:/Temp/WWW/index.html if I hit enter after it is pasted into the URL field when Noscript is enabled.
Replacing the HOME URL with an external (WWW) site still works though. Appears to be only local disk files that are affected.
Disabling Noscript and restarting firefox 50.0 makes everything work again. I think this issue started on the 23rd with the
new update.
Ideas ?
