Subtitle Download Option

Post by erosman »

Hi Giorgio

Subtitles are becoming commonplace with youtube and other embed media.
It would be good to have an option to download it.
At the moment it is a messy process to check the source and then convert the data.

Here is an example of the code:

Code: Select all

The annoying spam control doesn't let me paste the code for you
here is a link (embedded iframe):

Source:

Please note the file type/extension (vtt here) and the fact that it has to be converted back from base64 to normal text before saving.

There are other types of subtitle (close captions) used for embedding.

Let me know if you need any further info.

Regards

I've used youtube-dl for that, something along the lines of How to download only subtitles of videos using youtube-dl.

Thank you therube

I can download them if I wanted to (without the need for additional software).
The point was to make it available via FlashGot. ;)
