Closing Tab Doesn't Revoke Temporary Permissions

Post by pdun459 »

Just closing a tab doesn't seem to automatically revoke temporary permissions for that tab; you have to either do it manually or restart the browser. Anyone know if there's a setting somewhere to change this or will I just have to live with it?

It is not meant to work that way.
Closing a tab is not meant to revoke temporary permissions.

There is the context menu, Revoke Temporary Permissions, but that will revoke ALL temporarily set permissions - not just on the tab you are on.

Thanks thrube. That's what I was starting to think but it's good to have confirmation.

Appreciate it!

You can easily revoke temporary permission by selecting it from the NoScript menu, how hard is that? Imagine if you have 3 tabs open to a page you have temporarily allowed, if you close one tab, it will revoke for the other ones too, how is that productive? The current model is the most efficient.

However, I would propose and like to see a model where it checks to see if any other tabs are open pointing to that domain and if not THEN revoke it automatically but otherwise leave it temp allowed. That I can see having some benefit and would be a nice addition but not the way you are asking.
