The page http://answers.google.com/answers/threadview?id=297209 and other pages on answers.google.com do not load with NoScript on. They take a long while to load and do not display anything. I have whitelisted JS from the .google.com domain. Tried with firefox-46.0.1-linux-x86-64 from getfirefox.com and firefox-45.1.0-2.mga6 on mageia x86-64 v6 and an older firefox-38.x on mageia x86-64 v5. Firefox loads the page fine if you disable NoScript and so does chromium-browser . I'm using the latest version of NoScript from addons.mozilla.org.
Please look into fixing it.

Re: A Page on Google Answers Does Not Load with NoScript On
How do you like that.
Error Console is being spammed, non-stop presumably, with:
Also places.sqlite / places.sqlite-wal are also being spammed, non-stop.
(places.sqlite activity did subside - eventually. But I gather whatever it was doing, like updating a visit count or something similar must have had a huge backlog because it was a LONG time after I got answers to work before that activity subsided. [I'd think that's a bug on Mozilla's end, perhaps. Or at least in a situation like this, they ought to at some point cut off the data flow/update on the premise that something isn't right.])
NoScript | Options | Advanced -> HTTPS => Never force secure (HTTPS) connections for the following sites:
answers.google.com
(And that's only a work-around.)

Re: A Page on Google Answers Does Not Load with NoScript On
https://answers.google.com/answers/threadview?id=297209 gives this:
I can't even go to https://answers.google.com/answers/ without getting immediately redirected to plain http. (Apparently NoRedirect does not stop such redirections, when URL is the same except for protocol change https -> http.)
Code: Select all

Re: A Page on Google Answers Does Not Load with NoScript On
Probably this is because google.com is on the default whitelist, therefore forced HTTPS?
Can you add answers.google.com to the exceptions? Options - Advanced - HTTPS - Behavior - Never force secure connections...

Yep, that would be it.Thrawn wrote:Probably this is because google.com is on the default whitelist, therefore forced HTTPS?

Re: A Page on Google Answers Does Not Load with NoScript On
This should be considered a blocker, then, for forcing HTTPS on the default whitelist. Giorgio, should https.defWhitelist be defaulted to false? Or perhaps answers.google.com could be populated in the force-HTTPS exceptions by default?
