I'm a long-time enthusiastic NS user but I'm confused regarding notifications. To see whether NS may be blocking a script on the current page, my practice is to glance at the NS button on my toolbar: If there's some red in it I know that NS is blocking one or more scripts. But in checking my NS Options I see that "Show message about blocked scripts" is (and as far as I know, always has been) checked. To make sure I'm not overlooking such notifications, I recently increased the time before hiding them to 10 seconds. Yet when the NS button contains red this notification rarely appears.
Why am I not seeing the NS notification bar whenever NS is blocking a script?

Re: Notifications
Well, it's expected behavior in some cases (I'm confused about which?) to not see the notification if you're navigating with back/forward buttons or reopening Recently Closed Tab (to plain http page, not necessarily to https page) or the like. Some is when loading only from cache or loading data: URI you usually don't see it.
If that is not your case, can you please give exact steps you're following (including URLs) from the time you start your browser until you lose the notification?

*Always* check the changelogs BEFORE updating that important software!

Re: Notifications
Thanks, Barbaz, for your answer. For whatever reason I have just seen it now.
I gather from your post that regardless of the seemingly clear-cut choice in the Options menu, these messages when appropriate will sometimes appear and sometimes not. IMHO a notification under such circumstances is worse than useless, and accordingly I have reversed my notification instruction to NS.
