NoScript causes Firefox hang/spin when loading site

Post by lpm »

When NoScript 2.9.0.11 is active, loading https://particuliers.societegenerale.fr/ causes Firefox 45.0.2 to hang. A hardware thread is consuming 100% CPU. Appears to have something to do with a script located loaded from statsp.par.societegenerale.fr .

The site is a legitimate online banking site from one of the biggest banks in France, so 100% sure it's not a malicious site.

To reproduce simply visit the site with NoScript enabled.

Locking as duplicate, please continue in one of the linked threads.

Problem is not something malicious per se but that the site is doing something that likely makes it vulnerable.
*Always* check the changelogs BEFORE updating that important software!
