FlashGot is corrupted

Post by snowdog03 »

Error message after running AdwCleaner. I uninstalled the program afterwards which means can't restore files/folders: 'A Core FlashGot component is missing or corrupted, Please reinstall FlashGot.'
I uninstalled/reinstalled 3x, still doesn't work.
Browser is Firefox 24.8.1 ESR on MS Win XP SP3.

What is "3x"?

Error message after running AdwCleaner.
Was it that, or was it a FlashGot update (that perhaps is not compatible with your FF v24)?

What version of FlashGot are you running?
And if you drop back down to FlashGot 1.5.6.12, https://flashgot.net/feed?t=a ?

(And I thought the third time was the charmer.)

It was with the newest FG version. I no longer get that message but menu options are still greyed-out, dropped back to previous version and it works.

Have you found a solution?

Yesterday FlashGot 1.5.6.13 stopped working on my Mac using Firefox 19.02 using Firefox as the download manager. It was working perfectly and it just stopped recognizing videos in the middle of a download session when I tried to use the more options menu I received the same message you mentioned. There are some errors in the log file.

Uninstalled FlashGot (somehow the about:config settings remain after deletion) installed again, nothing. Installed on a second profile that didn't previously have it, nothing. Restored both Firefox and FlashGot from a backup, nothing.

Any suggestions? Help!!

Thank you.

Are you sure you were running 1.5.6.13 prior to your issues?

What happens if you revert back to FlashGot 1.5.6.12?

I had the same problem as the original poster. I reverted back to 1.5.6.12. Everything seems to be fine now. :D

Hi! Thank you for your replies.

Installed 1.5.6.12 after performing deep maintenance on my system and it is working now. 1.5.6.13 won't work with FF19.02.

I'm not 100% percent sure which version I had installed when it stopped working but I'm sure I reverted to a back up that was old enough to be sure it was a working set up.

All the best.
