[Resolved] NoScript 2.6.0.5 & 2.6.0.6 breaks amazon.co.uk

Post by soothsayer »

When trying to view a specific products details on amazon.co.uk (note; the .com site seems to work okay), I get an infinite redirect error from Firefox.

I have tried disabling just about all functionality through the options dialog, but this does not work. Only disabling the extension completely, or installing an older version works.

This does not happen with 2.6.0.4.

Please note that I am running a nightly build (en-GB localised) from 9th March - 48.0a1 (2016-03-09)

Example URL:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00DII593O

Extract from browser console:

Code: Select all

Is e10s enabled or disabled?

E10s is disabled - I find it still causes too many problems at the moment.

Have you got amazon.co.uk in your default whitelist (it can only have been gone there manually, by editing the noscript.default about:config preferene)?

No, it is only in my own whitelist "capability.policy.maonoscript.sites".

Are you forcing HTTPS from the advanced HTTPS options on amazon.co.uk?
Does the problem persist in latest development build 2.9.0.7rc2?

Unfortunately, the latest build does not work either.

That said, I am making some progress.

* Reset all settings to default - Works
* Add 'amazon.co.uk' to allow list (temporary or permanent does not matter) - Fails.

I updated Firefox to the latest nightly (2016-03-19) and it now works okay again.

There must have been a Firefox bug in the older nightly I was using that is now fixed.

Thanks for looking into this and sorry for wasting your time.
