NoScript 2.6.9.37rc1 up to 2.6.9.39 not available to FF 42.0

Post by Gari »

Previously with Firefox 42.0b6 beta win64 and with NoScript 2.6.9.37rc1, when clicking on "check updates" on "Add-Ons," it automatically updated to version 2.6.9.37rc2 without any indication of not being signed; however, I noticed on "Addons.Mozilla.org" website that this version is not supposed to be "not available for Firefox 42.0." Now, with this new NoScript 2.6.9.39, it still shows "not available for Firefox 42.0." I am now updated to Beta Firefox 42.0b8 build 1 win64 and was able to update NoScript version to 2.6.9.39rc1 without signature problem by checking on "check updates" on "Add-ons" while the "Addons.Mozilla.org" website still shows "not available for Firefox 42.0." Any help on how to update to the new version NoScript 2.6.9.39? - Thanks

2.6.9.39rc1 is equivalent to 2.6.9.39. You're on the development channel, so you don't need to change. You'll get automatic updates once there's a release candidate for 2.6.9.40.

I thought I saw on your NoScript website that version 2.6.9.39rc1 is still under the "development build," and on the "changelog" should show 2.6.9.37rc1, 2.6.9.37rc2, and then the stable version as 2.6.9.37. Same thing with 2.6.9.39rc1 as a "development build" then 2.6.9.39 as the stable version which still not showing on the NoScript "changelog" link; however, on the "Addons.Mozilla.org" website (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefo ... /versions/), it already shows the next version as 2.6.9.39.

Don't believe what AMO website tells you about extension being incompatible with your browser, it's usually wrong when it does that. If NS updated fine for you via "Check for updates" or the most recent dev build installed fine from AMO or noscript.net/informaction.com, then you're good, and if not then you've maybe found a bug. Also note that on AMO, NoScript v 2.6.9.39 stable hasn't passed full review yet, so it wouldn't be available in an update, and I think Giorgio might possibly be waiting for them to fully review it before uploading the AMO version back to his website & updating the changelogs/versions/links.
*Always* check the changelogs BEFORE updating that important software!

Yes, it is.

No, you won't get the "stable" version, since you're on the development channel, but it's functionally equivalent to the last rc build.
