Selectively Block Scripts
I just installed NoScript and I'm not very knowledgeable about scripts and much of the jargon used here. When I go to a website, I get a notification that there are, for example, 28 scripts "forbidden" (I assume that means blocked). It gives me no information about the scripts or what they do. Is there a way to obtain the information? Also, is there a way to block some of the scripts, or am I only permitted to allow them all to remain blocked or unblock the entire domain or page? Thanks.

Re: Selectively Block Scripts
use Firebug (available on AMO) and look for <script> elements, then read the scripts. that's the only way to get what you're asking for.Bnotech wrote:Is there a way to obtain the information?
but if you're not knowledgeable about scripts, that's useless to you..

some information about the sites can be obtained by middle-click the item in the noscript menu.
for external scripts, yes: use ABEBnotech wrote:Also, is there a way to block some of the scripts,
but this isn't a very practical solution... and from security POV, either you trust the site or you don't, there's no "half-trust" (see FAQ 1.11)

Re: Selectively Block Scripts
Thank you very much for your response. I'll have to look more closely at ABE when I have the energy.

Re: Selectively Block Scripts
That's not actually necessary in modern Firefox; you can launch the built-in developer tools with Ctrl+Shift+Ibarbaz wrote:use Firebug (available on AMO)

Re: Selectively Block Scripts
well last I checked the built-in dev tools did not have a good interface for viewing external scripts... has this changes?
