top-level site auto-whitelisting glitches

Post by Andy747 »

Hello!
I use NoScript with Temporarily allow top-level sites by default (2nd level domain) option.
When I visit imdb.com, somehow media-imdb.com domain gets temporary whitelisted too.
The same thing I noticed on theverge.com - when i click play button on any video (to play any video there, vox-cdn.com need to be allowed), domain ooyala.com gets automatically temporary whitelisted.
Is it a bug?

I very much doubt it's a bug. The last time sites were getting auto-whitelisted for people who had that setting, was because there were redirects through these domains, so it was at one point a top-level domain.
You can catch non-JS redirects with NoRedirect configured to block all redirects (Regex: .*, check only "Source")
*Always* check the changelogs BEFORE updating that important software!
