Download Failure
I switched to a new computer and wanted to down load noscript. I am on your website, hit the down load button, I get a message that firefox prevented this site from asking you to install software on your computer. When I tell it to allow, the activity bar show as downloading. then I get a message that add on could not be downloaded because of a connection failure with noscript. Is there a problem with the site or with my computer? I'm using windows 7 and firefox.

Re: Download Failure
See if anything here helps, https://noscript.net/faq#qa2_1 ?
In any case, at least at this point in time, I would get it direct from AMO, as that version is signed (where AFAIK the version here is not signed - yet).

Re: Download Failure
Well, I went to the page you suggested for help (the download website it said to use was the same one I was using and it still didn't work), it sent me to another page which sent me to the about:config page, I was supposed to find something called xpinstall.enabled and set it to true. Now, here's where I got confused. there there are four xpinstall headings, none with enabled after the dot. They can all be set to true, but I don't know which one to do it to. There was .customConfirmationUI, .signatures.devInfoURL, .signatures.required, .whitelist.required. So which one do I set to true?

Re: Download Failure
See if it works from here, https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/seamonkey/addon/noscript/.
(Not sure if the FAQ is [still] accurate? And I also found it odd that the [informaction.com] page did not have a link to AMO either?)

Re: Download Failure
That is a different page than the other one I used, but the same message comes up about failure to connect. And it wasn't a link on the first page, which is strange! (I don't remember which one I originally used on my other computer.) What is really strange is that my husband has Windows 7 on his computer and had no trouble downloading it. So, any suggestions now?

Re: Download Failure
Actually, I think the message was different this time, it said the add-on could not be download because of a connection failure on addons.mozilla.org.

Re: Download Failure
Sorry to keep adding more here, but I went back and tried several older versions to see if any of them would work and got the same problem. Then I tried adding a new theme for Mozilla and got the same answer. This is a really weird problem and the only thing I can think of is maybe I did something?

Re: Download Failure
try right-click > save link as ; then drag&drop to install ? does it work then?
*Always* check the changelogs BEFORE updating that important software!

Re: Download Failure
That finally worked!! Can't believe it was so difficult! I was unclear on where you wanted me to drag it to, but I moved the saved file to my desktop and dropped it onto the Mozilla icon and that's when it worked. Thank you for your patience and help. I am not always sure of what to do when there is problem with something on my computer (and sometimes I can figure things out), but I have been trying to learn as much as possible about how things work. Especially when there is a weird problem like this one!
