(SeaMonkey Nightly) Error Console spam; ClearClick Broken?

Post by barbaz »

Code: Select all

Error: TypeError: invalid 'instanceof' operand scc[j]
Source File: chrome://noscript/content/ClearClickHandler.js
Line: 278
NoScript 2.6.9.22rc1, SeaMonkey Nightly (official build 20150506003001 for Linux i686)
Getting the above message spammed to my Error Console every time I do, well, just about anything on a web page (left-clicking anywhere on some page on these forums will do for testing).

Is that significant?

I've seen this in a bug (still under investigation) in latest Tor Browser.
Are you using the Tor Button?
If not, does this problem persist with no extension except NoScript?

No Tor Button, and disabling all extensions aside NoScript makes no difference.

[DUP] TypeError: invalid 'instanceof' operand scc[j]

(And this continues with NoScript 2.6.9.25rc1.)

I'll also note that when I came across this, I was pasting "security.ssl3.dhe_rsa_aes_128" into about:config, & nothing showed up, but it should have.

Trying again now, in a different Profile, security.ssl3.dhe_rsa_aes_128_sha is turning up, so maybe there is some sort of interacting with another extension going on that is additionally affecting things? (Or maybe my other Profile is just so much more larger, that there is a greater timing issue affecting the display of results, or not as the case was, from something pasted into the about:config Search box?)

(Oh, & don't go by my UA, because I'm using a different Profile & the release version of SeaMonkey when I come here [at least for now].)

I've been using Firefox 40.0b3 and Noscript 2.6.9.30.This problem persist w/o other extension but Noscript. It happens if I click at somewhere in the browser window, which slow down the browsing experience and affect to Drag&Drop extensions.

And here's another "JavaScript 1.6's for-each-in loops are deprecated; consider using ES6 for-of instead1 ScriptSurrogate.js:345:209" log spaming in browser console, too. It cause nothing though.

It's unrelated to this thread and because NoScript supports all the way back to Firefox 3.0.9 (for-of loops weren't introduced until Firefox 13). Please take further discussion of this to another thread.

This is still happening with the RC build of Firefox 40 that will be pushed on Tuesday. Will it be fixed before then?

This is a problem in Firefox 40 when you enter text in a textarea, the error occurring many times per character; many hundreds of times, therefore, in a short message like this one.

I'm seeing it on every click, as well. Actually, twice on mousedown, and twice on mouseup.

OK, I think I've nailed it.
A fix will be available in next dev build (hopefully later this evening).
