CNBC online

Post by satyrias »

Using Firefox 38 and have been trying to watch CNBC on line with my ATT Uverse account. I can log into ATT acct through CNBC site but no picture. I see the rolling circle in the center of the page.

I allowed all the scripts temporarily whatever displayed for that page but the CNBC site is not loading. If I disable the noscript from the FF browser, I can watch CNBC.

Anybody has any idea what are the sites needed to be allowed for CNBC?

Thanks for any suggestion.

I have already allowed those scripts you posted and few more.

The recorded shows are working for me, same as the link you posted now, which is not a live program.

Please click "Watch live" on the top of that screen. Does it work for you?

Well, since it works for therube, can you try it in a clean profile with only NoScript installed, and all default NoScript settings except for (Temp-)Allowing needed sites?

(Don't know if what I looked at was a "live" show, if that matters, & then it looks like you may need some sort of subscription for "live"? which I don't have.)

Yes, I have said in my first post that I log in through ATT Uverse Acct to watch a TV online. Otherwise, how could I watch the live CNBC TV programs when I disable the NoScript? So, something is blocking the CNBC live TV when I enable NoScript.

I can watch live TV from CNN even though this NoScript is enabled.

OK.. try the new profile test anyway... and if that doesn't work either, install NoRedirect and configure it to block all redirects (Regex: .* , check only "Source") to see if some interaction between NoScript and an intermediate site is the problem?

Also, make sure you're using latest development build (actually, you need to get the latest dev build / rc from AMO currently as it's not up on noscript.net yet)

Thank you for your time.

I removed the old profile under user/appdata/Roaming/Mozila/Firefox path... and launched the FF. That created a new profile there. At that point I tested, I can see the live CNBC TV after activating Shockwave Flash that is needed for the picture. No problem at all.

Then I installed the NoScript Version 2.6.9.33rc1 and allowed all the sites that were listed for that page but that didn’t help. I still see the circling arrow in the center.

Then I installed the NoRedirect add on and checked only “Source” as you said. That didn’t give any error for the CNBC page. As usual I see only the circling arrow in the center.

One thing I noticed that while displaying the circling arrow in the center, I see a display on the bottom Status bar, “Transferring data from tve-common.nbcuni.com..” I always see that display for that page after installing NoScript. In the NoScript permission list, it is not shown to give permission. There is another entry called, rbcui.com that was already allowed.

Would you try with your TV account? Use your online username and password for your TV account, to log into the online CNBC live TV. http://www.cnbc.com/live-tv/

Well unfortunately I don't have a TV account, but I do know that other NBC sites do require nbcuni.com Allowed to play video. What if you whitelist it manually in NoScript Options > Whitelist ?

BTW, I don't think more testing in a clean profile is needed, you might as well put your normal profile back.

Now I checked the Whitelist. The CNBC.com is already in that list.

Any other idea?

I asked about nbcuni.com though... is that in your whitelist?

I checked now. Yes, the " nbcuni.com " is in the Whitelist as well.

It looks like all the sites that I gave permission are showing up in that Whitelist automatically.
