[RESOLVED] Dropdown menu entries missing

Post by dodge_driver »

Hey there,

I have strange problem with my noscript plugin. When clicking the symbol I only get a few options to choose from. I made a screenshot: http://abload.de/img/noscript_screenxnuti.png

What I tried so far:

1. I reinstalled the plugin.
2. I reinstalled Firefox
3. I deleted my Firefox profile directory and program directory, then I installed Firefox and noscript

Nothing helped. Searching the registry for "noscript" also didn't show any results. I also ran my anti virus software but nothing.

Do you have an idea how to proceed?

Hey there,

thanks for advising Malwarebytes Anti-Malware. There were some 50 problems found on my system, which were in 90% not related to the problem - But there were two adware addons I never installed in firefox (and already removed before). I had the same ads everywhere and really annoying ones. These addons still resided somewhere in the registry and hidden deep in the filesystem.

After cleaning with Anti-Malware, noscript was complety broken. That is, it only showed the settings bar in the menu.

So eventually I ran "sfc /scannow" from CMD in admistration mode. It found damaged system files and repaired them (where possible), ...still have broken ones.

Now noscript is running again fine! ... Gosh, you REALLY have to have something like noscript. So much sh** out there trying to **** you...
