[RESOLVED] Firefox and NS

Post by required_username »

Thought I posted here a few days ago but can't find it now and have received no responses.
Windows 8.1 FF 38.0.5 NS 2.6.9.27
Moved to a new PC. On the previous PC a NS icon appeared on the extreme right of the status bar. Right-clicking gave a dropdown list of option. No icon on FF on the new PC.
I have no NS toolbar option when right-clicking the FF menu bar (don't know if I ever did).
I CAN right-click anywhere on a web page and access NS, BUT I MUCH prefer the icon on the status bar.
The last question is probably a setting I can't find. On my previous PC, when I opened NS, my options were "Temporarily allow . . . " and something similar to "permanently allow . . . " On the new PC, this became "Mark xxxx as untrusted." I prefer the default to be untrusted - requiring me to manually trust. How do I get that option?

To put the NoScript toolbar icon where you want it:
Right-click on toolbar > Customize, drag the NoScript icon to wherever you want it

To get the Allow/Temp-allow options back, see if you have scripts globally allowed, if so Forbid Scripts Globally (either by the menu item, or the checkbox in NoScript Options > Whitelist)

That's odd. I never saw a post by you here until now and no one deleted anything posted by you. :?:

Toolbar>Customize worked perfectly. Thanks.
scripts globally allowed is unchecked. Can't find Forbid Scripts Globally.
FWIW, Under Options?Appearance I have "Allow" and "Temporarily Allow" checked - "Mark Untrusted" unchecked.
You've probably figured out I'm not to savvy in forum use. Just because I THINK I posted doesn't mean I did everything correctly. :(

Then scripts are not globally allowed...
Do you have the same set of extensions installed on both computers?

Worth quite a bit.
There is a screenshot of the Appearance tab here. Aside the fact you will have a "Permanent allow commands in private windows" checkbox and you won't have the "Status bar icon" checkbox, and that your "Mark [...] as Untrusted" is un-checked, how does yours differ from that?

Well, I checked every box that was checked in the screenshot and closed options. went back and UNchecked "Mark . . . untrusted," "Allow . . . globally," and "About." Works perfectly now . . . I think. Don't know how it worked. Don't CARE how it worked. I'm happy, thanks.
