Can not Configure

Post by ProprioIo »

Hi,
Always used Noscript which I consider essential, but lately have problems. It seems it does not allow me to configure, only 'Allow temporarely all the page' seems to work.
Have already tried instlling & deinstalling, including reinstalling the whole Firefox 3.80.05

P.S. It seems some folks delete the setting list; Is it possible to make a back up of the allowed site list? If not, should be added asap.

scan your system for malware before trying to troubleshoot this?

noscript options > whitelist, export (not the one on the very bottom of options)

After backup of your settings, try a NoScript Reset.
NoScript | Options | Reset

Otherwise disable all other extensions except for NoScript & test.
Otherwise, create a new, clean Profile & test.

Already tried all types of restore, install & deinstall. Not done new profile yet.
How do you make a new profile and what am I supposed to save not to loose all bookmarks & Passwords saved?

Did you scan your system for malware? If not, please do that before trying further steps. Use both your antivirus and a tool like Malwarebytes Anti-Malware (the free version will do).
This stuff is usually caused by malware lately so make sure your system is clean before trying to get NoScript back in working order.

You create a new profile by starting firefox in profile manager mode, if you read that article about profile there are some links that explain how to create a new profile.

You don't need to worry about that - as long as you do NOT delete your EXISTING profile (usually named "default") you'll have your data.
(Although it'll seem "gone" in the new profile because that stuff is all inside specific profile; but it can be transferred but don't do that just yet.)

Solved, thanks a lot.
The scan with Malwarebytes Anti-Malware free version was the right cure.
