[Unrelated] Firefox 38.0.1 crashes with NoScript enabled
[ split from viewtopic.php?f=7&t=20818 and edited title - barbaz ]
I am also getting crashes with No Script now.
I have a Toshiba Laptop running Windows 8.1 (or 2?)
The problem started just two days ago. Going to almost any page from the base Firefox page triggers the crash. For example, trying to access my Yahoo mail will do it. Also www.alibris.com.
I only use 3 extensions, one of them part of my antivirus.
I really like No Script. Please fix this as soon as you can find time from your family. I feel naked without it.

Re: NoScript crashes Firefox 38.0.1
@Bendegeit: I am not sure that is the same crash issue as the one in the OP...
Does disabling all extensions other than NoScript get it working? (Tools > Add-ons Manager)
Also, please post your submitted crash report URL(s) (about:crashes > look for reports starting with "bp", if they're not click to submit them).

Re: NoScript crashes Firefox 38.0.1
@Barbaz
Yes, I guess this might not be exactly the same thing. I noticed this thread because the dates seemed to match my problem as well as the "firefox" and "crash."
I have only 3 extensions.
If only No Script is active, Firefox crashes.
If only No Script is not active, Firefox does not crash.
Again, this began only 2 days ago. I don't think anything (Firefox or you) has updated so I'm very puzzled.
I also did a virus scan using Webroot but the results came up negative.

Also, given other reports here, got Trusteer Rapport?
And again, what are the crash report URL(s)?

Shockwave Flash 17.0.0.169

Thanks for that information but it's still not quite enough for us to properly help you.
What Are The Submitted Crash Report URLs? And If They Are Not Submitted Please Do So And Then Post The URLs Here.
I'm also splitting your posts to a new thread.

In a different thread is was alluded that it may not show up as either an extension or Plugin?
(Not sure as I've never used it myself?)
So you may have to look in Windows Add or Remove programs or similar?

Re: Firefox 38.0.1 crashes with NoScript enabled
OK try uninstalling Trusteer (at least temporarily)
That is a Windows crash report. I meant a Mozilla crash report.
To get crash report type about:crashes in the urlbar (where it says forums.informaction.com/viewtopic.php... now), look for a crash report that's from the time of one of these crashes, if it starts with bp- right-click the link and copy the link location and paste it here in url tags (like this)
if it does not start with bp- click it first (to submit it), then copy the URL out of the address bar.

Forgive me if I look foolish. Was I suppose to do it this way?

This crash is before I uninstalled Trusteer.

Sorry, coulda sworn I'd right clicked and copied as instructed.
Code: Select All

Also, with trusteer removed Firefox is not crashing.

That's it, thanks. The culprit in that crash is rookscom.dll which is part of Trusteer.
