Firefox 37 Freezing

Post by Guest »

Firstly, thank you for developing NoScript. It is the only reason I prefer Firefox over Chrome.

I am using Noscript 2.6.9.22.1-signed as installled from Noscript.net
(Upgrading via the usual FF way always fails with an "error downloading" message).

Firefox 37.0.2 with Shockwave Flash plugin 17.0.0.169 (Window 7 Home Premium x64 on Dell XPS desktop)
causes FF to hang indefinitely on random web sites.

(Although www.atozistanbul.com/ always hangs:- just select TopkapPalace item from its Highlights menu).

Most of the time, a FF dialog box opens offering to close a script that is running to
long. However, this dialog box is also unresponsive.
Once this happens, killing all FF processes using Task manager seems to be the only option.
Disabling Flash and all my other add-ons did not fix the freezing.

I had to disable All Protection by NoScript to eliminate the problem.

What script does it say is unresponsive?

So just Allowing Scripts Globally, with nothing in Untrusted, isn't enough to stop this?
What about having all scripts/active content disabled on an affected page?

What are the full list of sites you Allowed on that webpage where this always reproducible?

And when it hangs, is there any related messages in the Browser Console? (Ctrl-Shift-J)
(you would have to leave it on before making the browser hang; also, if you don't know what's related, turn off CSS warnings and post everything else you see)
*Always* check the changelogs BEFORE updating that important software!
