How can I block Intellitxt link pop-ups?

Post by JJR2 »

One of the local news sites has started including intellitxt random links in their news postings:

Intellitxt doesn't show up in the NoScript script list, and removing intellitxt.com from the whitelist (I didn't put it there) has no effect on the links or the "AdChoices" links that pop up if I mouse over the link. I can delete an offending IText node with Inspect Element, and one link will go away. How do I block this?

I think the board broke your link, you need to wrap it in url tags *before* you hit Preview.

However I don't think it matters here, I'm guessing that there's no IntelliTxt ads on that page at all and you've got malware. Scan your entire system with your antivirus, Malwarebytes Anti-Malware (the free version will do), and maybe AdwCleaner?
*Always* check the changelogs BEFORE updating that important software!

(BTW, link "works" even though broken.)

There are.

I allowed ALL KINDS OF STUFF & it wasn't until I allowed intellitxt.com that intellitxt ads showed up.

Code: Select all

-intellitxt.com

+lowermybills.com
+googletagservices.com
+google-analytics.com
+addthis.com
+advertising.com
+doubleclick.net
+twitter.com
+googleadservices.com
+googlesyndication.com
+vibrant.co
+moatads.com
+adnxs.com
+dotomi.com
+quantserve.com
+facebook.net
+kaltura.com
+fastclick.net
+voicefive.com
+google.com
+undertone.com
+pubmatic.com
+scorecardresearch.com
+postrelease.com
+ktuu.com
removing intellitxt.com from the whitelist (I didn't put it there) has no effect
Explain that.
You remove intellitxt.com & it no longer shows up, but the ads persist?
Or you remove it & it does not remove from the list, instead persisting?
Or you remove it, & it is gone, but when you restart FF & look again, it is back in there?
