Blocking @font-face breaks pages bad; do you still use it?

Post by tarjk »

I still use it. I'm glad NoScript offers this capability. Setting Firefox to not download fonts and to use only a local font also breaks icons.

Here's a screenshot from GitHub of some icons not displaying properly:

Do you guys just live with icon breakage? Or do you end up turning off the @font-face setting?

I just live with it, but it does get annoying. There is an open bug about it on Firefox. You can vote on it and lend your voice to get it fixed. It's bug #789788

Personally I mostly live with it, sometimes I temp-allow the font in the Blocked Objects menu, and occasionally (like in the case of GitHub) I add an entry to about:config -> noscript.allowedMimeRegExp to permanently whitelist the font.
*Always* check the changelogs BEFORE updating that important software!
