[RESOLVED] Noscript and Tooltip
[RESOLVED] Noscript and Tooltip
Hi,
after upgrading to FF36 the Noscript tooltip doesnt disappear automatically, I have to click somewhere in the page.
Tried on 2 PC.
downgrading to 2.6.9.14 I become the normal behaviour.
Thanks for fixing.
Regards.

Re: Noscript and Tooltip
Confirmed.
But its not NoScript, its FF (36) AFAIC.

hmmm I am not sure. In the past there was the same issue and Noscript developer fixed it.

Re: Noscript and Tooltip
Well you can take the same Profile, same NoScript version, & run it with FF35 & run it with FF36 & see the difference.
SeaMonkey 2.33 appears to be unaffected (but then it does have unrelated issues).

Re: Noscript and Tooltip
but in the past Maone resolved this issue! not bugzilla!
I did not have to wait the next FF version nor a patch.
Maone guarantees the compatibility of Noscript with FF; Mozilla does not guarantee the compatibility of FF with Noscript

Re: Noscript and Tooltip
Which "tooltip" are we talking about, exactly?
Have you got a (possibly marked) screenshot?
Thanks!

this tooltip doesnt disappear until you click elsewhere.
With all previous versions (before FF36) I did not need to click elsewhere. Its very very annoying, because the page dont reload.
The tooltip should work as in the previous FF builds, i.e. move the mouse and the tooltip disappear without any click.
Fully reproducible on other pc/laptop.
Incompatibility between Noscript and FF36??

Re: Noscript and Tooltip
Even though I consider this old behavior less convenient, I'll provide an option to restore it if and when I figure out what actually caused the change.cumdacon wrote:http://postimg.org/image/kxiiwcytz/
this tooltip doesnt disappear until you click elsewhere. Not a tooltip, it's a popup menu. That's true.cumdacon wrote: With all previous versions (before FF36) I did not need to click elsewhere. The page reloads, actually.cumdacon wrote: Its very very annoying, because the page dont reload.
And as I wrote in the other thread, I consider the click to dispose behavior (which, BTW, applies to all the toolbar popup menu I've seen so far in Firefox 36) more a feature than a bug, since the "dispose on mouseout" one was often unpredictable, especially during complex permissions setting operations.cumdacon wrote: The tooltip should work as in the previous FF builds, i.e. move the mouse and the tooltip disappear without any click.

no. no.Giorgio Maone wrote: (which, BTW, applies to all the toolbar popup menu I've seen so far in Firefox 36)
all other popups (icons) disappear in FF36! at least here by me: the good old behaviour.
do you experience this behaviour with ADB popu too? I dont.
This kind problem with noscript ***only***
I wrote more in detail on the other topic.
Doubling the number of needed clicks is simply nonsense, in my opinion. For me the less clicks = the better = the faster.
Attention: I dont **click** over the icon Noscript (nor over ADB, nor Hello). simply **move** the mouse over Noscript, then please move it over ADB icon: you see the differencies! and move the mouse over Noscript with ff35.

Click on - vs.- move the mouse over,
this is important and ADB icon is a good sample of the "old" Noscript behaviour, lost starting from ff36.
(Autoschediasm from myself: FF36 changelog: "pinned tiles". maybe related?)
the "old" noscript tooltip becomes now (with this big issue/great ameliorament, if you prefer) a "half real popup": you dont need to click on it to get it displayed, but you need to click elsewhere for closing it! (the logic is not cogent, in my opinion).
That is all that I can say.
thanks.
Regards.

Re: Noscript and Tooltip
See my post in the other thread - people who configured the NoScript menu to open on mouse hover used to be able to choose whether they want the menu to close on mouse click or mouse pointer off the menu.Giorgio Maone wrote:Even though I consider this old behavior less convenient, I'll provide an option to restore it if and when I figure out what actually caused the change.
Restoring the old behavior, with no option, is enough to let the user have it whichever way they want.
Please consider that. Thanks.
*Always* check the changelogs BEFORE updating that important software!

Re: Noscript and Tooltip
thanks barbaz.
I NEVER setted noscript to "to open on mouse hover", so I guess that this is /was the (good) DEFAULT setting. I never changed this setting manually (except whitelist, sound, ABE string and nothing else).
