Blocking Html5 videos

I know Firefox has a click to play plugin feature for Flash. However, video streaming and advertising sites are increasing adoptation of HTML5 to serve videos. It is annoying to hear those ads because I tend to open several tabs before start reading. Can no script be configured to block HTML5 videos unless I whitelist the site? It would be even better if it is click to play so I can allow some videos to play while blocking others on the same site.

That is the default configuration.

If you are intending to have scripts globally allowed or for videos not to be automatically allowed with Temp-Allowing a site, then you'll need to check
NoScript Options > Embeddings > Apply these restrictions to whitelisted sites too
and instead use
about:config -> noscript.allowedMimeRegExp
for whitelisting sites to play video.

I see it now. I have not enabled "apply these restrictions to whitelisted sites too". I think that is a good idea. Thank you for the explanation.
