Temporarily allow is not 100% working

Post by vsub »

I don't know what's wrong but that happens really often. When I temporary allow some site(it's not happening always so it's not because of some special site)he is not set as temporary allowed but allowed.
The option "Allow" is disabled from the menu and I enable it when I really want some site to be always allowed.
I use FF 3.0.11 and NoScript 1.95 but I have it from before.

How do you know it is permanently allowed? Are you closing the browser, going back to the page, and seeing that your previous TA did not expire when the session ended and is still allowed, or are you looking in your Whitelist? Please note that sites TA'd *will* show in the Whitelist, but in italics, which is the sign that it's temporary.

The fact that it's not happening always .... If it happens once at example.com, will it *always* happen at example.com? Could you name some sites where it *always* happens? Or is it totally random?

After my sister finish using my pc,when I open the browser and go look at the Whitelist I can see the sites that was previously TA'd are still there and they are not italic. The option to Permanently allow some site is disabled and she don't know how to enable it(it's not that I don't know is know how to enable it,she really don't know)
Please note that sites TA'd *will* show in the Whitelist, but in italics, which is the sign that it's temporary.
Yes I know,I use NoScript from really long time ago and I know how to use it(the problem is that my sister don't know and she TA everything if something is not showing as it has to be)
The fact that it's not happening always .... If it happens once at example.com, will it *always* happen at example.com? Could you name some sites where it *always* happens? Or is it totally random?
I don't really know, when she uses my pc it's happening almost every time but when I use it it doesn't(it happens to me too but it's extremely rare because I use only the sites that are in my bookmarks and almost all of them are permanently allowed)

When it happens again all post some of the sites but I think it's random.

Ok here are the sites that are allowed after she uses my pc.

atdmt.com
freshlookcontacts.com
google-analytics.com
googleapis.com
ibg.bg
imoti-plovdiv.com
imrworldwide.com
investor.bg
rezonmedia.eu
teenproblem.net
unibet.com

After I remove them I tried to TA them and then restart FF but they were not in the Whitelist at all(like it should be).Looks like it's random or there is some other reason that makes them always allowed

I have noticed that on some sites when I temporarily allow and it has flash content, it will just loop like it can't load and goes in a circle over and over and the only way to fix it is to kill the browser and start again and this time whitelist permanent to make it work but its not something that happens consistently and on EVERY page and I have other extensions which MIGHT be adding to the problem too, so I am not sure its a NoScript issue but it is possible I guess. It could be that your settings are corrupted, have you tried to "reset" it by opening options and clicking reset? Make sure as always to export your list if you need to keep it, or start over, which ever your preference.

Yes I tried to reset my settings too but it's the same. It's like she's doing something different than me because I can't remember when was the last time that happen to me.She doesn't use any of the other add-ons,she only TA everything when something is not showing/working as it should be.

I've noticed a very occasional (maybe two or three times) persistent Temp Allow, connected with sessions when I seem to remember there was a sequence of allowing video (not only flash, but ogg and real) objects as well as domains. I didn't have the time to confirm it wasn't just my bad memory and that I hadn't restarted Fx.
I'm sorry I can't reproduce it yet, but I'll keep my eyes open.

Here's some more after she used my pc again:

doubleclick.net
google-analytics.com
googlesyndication.com
imot.bg
rezonmedia.eu
zaplata.bg

2 of them are the same as above but I remove every one of the sites that are on my previous post.

I just thought of something you can check. Are you sure that allow top level domains by default or allow through bookmark is not checked?

Options|General|Temporarily allow top-level sites by default
Options|General|Allow sites opened through bookmarks

Have you tried with a clean profile to see if that still happens? The easiest and quickest way:

1. Click on Run and type %appdata% and press enter
2. Open the Mozilla folder and rename the profile.ini to profile.bak
3. Open the profile folder and rename the <whatever>.default to <whatever>.default.bak
4. Open up Firefox which will create a new profile like its the first run
5. Install NoScript and restart Firefox
6. Configure it how you like and see what happens.

If the problem is resolved then either your profile was corrupt, or another extension was causing an issue. You can now use this new profile to rebuild by adding your extensions one at a time until you discover what is causing it or go back to your old one at least knowing if it is a NoScript issue or not.
