Can't download from retrevo.com

Post by Brian_ »

At retrevo.com, I've enabled retrevo.com, cxt.ms, and bizrate.com, but am unable to download anything. I tested in IE and was able to. Is there something I can do to get it working, or could this be added to the next build?

URL: http://www.retrevo.com/s/Panasonic-TC-P42S60-TVs-review-manual/id/24372dj597/t/1-2/

I was able to get it to work with

+bizrate.com
+retrevo.com

(They make you go through hoops, including a captcha, but in the end...)

As a test, create a new Profile, install only NoScript, allow those two domains & see if it works?

IOW, disable your adblocker ;-).

@Brian_: I'm not understanding what script you think should have a surrogate.
What 3rd-party script source on that site serves a privacy borking script that is required for the site to function properly?

If you don't know, let's move this to NoScript Support.

The green "Get Manual" button doesn't work, just plunking you back on the same page you're already on. You were clicking the red "Download Manual" button, which does get you to some form that I couldn't be bothered to go through.

I couldn't get the green button to work even disabling ad blocker and allowing everything until I got no syntax errors in the Web Console...

@Brian_: are you referring to the green "Get Manual" button or do none of the manual downloading buttons do anything for you?

Green (Get the Manual)
-"same" page reloads
Red (Download the Document)
-captcha page loads
Red (Download Now)
-then the (pdf) download should initiate (& the page rolls to something different again)

Sorry for the delay. I didn't get my notify (common problem with phpBB it seems).
Try this:
http://www.retrevo.com/s/Toshiba-TP50G5 ... 811/t/1-2/
Click "Looking for the product manual? Click here"
Next page, click "Download the Document" with red down arrow icon.
Next page, enter numbers, click red Download Now button.
No downloading happens.
I have ABP disabled.

Sorry, I put my last post there with similar problem, and it was moved to surrogates, so I assumed just post here this time. I don't even know what a surrogate is.

The board broke your link, please edit your post and replace the link wrapping it in url tags like

Code: Select all

[url]link here[/url]

You mean viewtopic.php?f=26&t=20287 ?
Oh, sorry about the confusion.
It wasn't a mistake to post your other thread in Support. The reason I moved it was only because that issue happened to be resolvable with a surrogate script which I thought would be suitable for inclusion in the default list, and I wanted to make sure that it didn't get lost in the sea of other support threads. Just because I move a thread (or split posts etc.) doesn't automatically mean that the poster posted in the wrong place.
Again, apologies for the mix-up.

Same issue with Instructables.com.
Click on download link and it does nothing: no downloads, no error or warning messages. Even if I allow all scripts on the page, there is no action. Ctl-click brings up noscript menu, and not "open in a new tab."

Moving to NoScript Support because it seems none of these issues require surrogates.
