Pandora not loading

Post by Greengecko »

When I go to Pandora.com I get the message: "It is taking longer than expected to fetch the next song to play....". I've looked at all the posts regarding Pandora but no one seems to have this same issue. I have already clicked on "Allow all" for Pandora, but no success. Pandora is in already in my Trusted list. Any ideas?

http://www.pandora.com/

Clicked through half a dozen "forwards" & the songs all loaded timely.

I know this is an older post, but I ran into this and solved it. Maybe this will help someone.

In my case, on the 'Embeddings' tab on the NoScript options dialog, I have 'Forbid Adobe Flash' and 'Apply these restrictions to whitelisted sites too' selected. Because of that, it's not enough to just allow pandora.com to execute javascript - I also have to unblock 'Blocked Objects' (in the NoScript context menu) -> 'Temporarily Allow shockwave-flash@http://www.pandora.com/.../Jplayer.swf' and some other objects (or just allow *@http://www.pandora.com from the Blocked Objects menu).

I didn't see any way to control blocked objects on a per-site basis in a permanent list.

I generally block all sites from running flash - even whitelisted - ones because of those sites who are in the habit of embedding videos on the side that has nothing to do with the content I visited the site to see. Not to mention how annoying it is to visit a web page (or pages) and have to find the element that is suddenly causing your speakers to blare some unwanted content.
