Show options->appearance selections ignored?

Post by Guest »

Mine just updated to 2.6.9.8

I represent the annoying ignorant user and am completely confused by this new addition (and I am the one that helps family and friends with it so there is even a level below).

I notice a new "permanent "allow" commands in private windows" and a "temporarily allow all on this page" label in the NoScript hover over menu that I can't seem to figure out how to remove. I previously deliberately removed the check next to the "temporarily allow all on this page" in options -> appearance to avoid anyone from accidentally hitting it (only show the temporarily allow and revoke temporary permissions options to eliminate mistakes). Checking the options -> appearance section shows both of those options unchecked and I tried checking, saving, and then re-unchecking them hoping my selection would then stick to no avail.

Is there a way that I can select for the new "permanent "allow" commands in private windows" and a "temporarily allow all on this page" labels to respect my options->appearance selections? I also selected for revoke temporary permissions to show and now it isn't.

Somehow it seems that my NoScript options are being ignored as I have selected neither of these to appear but they now are and one that I selected to show which isn't.

I literally just posted viewtopic.php?f=10&t=20389 describing similar sounding issues with the menu in 2.6.9.8rc3
Does downgrading to 2.6.9.8rc2 help?

As long as it is a temporary bug and not something deliberate, I am more comfortable waiting for the next update for it to be fixed as I don't trust myself to downgrade without messing something else up. :)

I tested a bit. It seems that the appearance options effects have been scrambled a little after "Permanent Allow commands in private windows" was added in 2.6.9.8.

I hope my testing of turning on and off various options and testing websites didn't mess up my settings. Only the whitelist and the options available in the menu can be messed up in that situation right ? If so it's fine, it means I'll be able to spot any misconfiguration right away once NoScript gets fixed.
