(SM+Linux)FlashGot Selection not downloading whole selection
(SM+Linux)FlashGot Selection not downloading whole selection
EDIT
I haven't seen this again in using FlashGot so let's consider this resolved
/EDIT
SeaMonkey 2.29.1, FlashGot latest stable, browser built-in download manager
1) Go to http://www.remastersys.com/ubuntu/pool/ ... ersys-gtk/
2) Select the entire text of all 3 filenames, sizes, dates modified, starting with the lower right corner ("62.2K")
3) FlashGot Selection
... and remastersys-gtk_3.0.2-1_all.deb is zero bytes downloaded and shown as not visited. I have to manually save it.
Repeating the same steps on http://www.remastersys.com/ubuntu/pool/ ... ersys-gui/, the first two files are downloaded as zero bytes - but FlashGot Selection on those separately does download them correctly.
Why doesn't the mass download work in one go?

Re: FlashGot Selection not downloading whole selection
So a .deb is a .tar.gz.
All worked for me.
It's not unusual, & in this case too, for me to pick up an "odd" file, "unknown.gif", in addition to the wanted files.
In any case, all three came down, all the correct size, & verify correctly (7-zip t *.deb).
Same results using a download manager & Browser Built In.
> Repeating the same steps
Again all worked as expected.
See what %TMP%\flashgot.usename\flashgot.fgt.done shows.
Won't show sizes & wouldn't have anything to do with the actual downloads, but the wanted file path/names should be in there.

Re: FlashGot Selection not downloading whole selection
Well, I've reproduced with a similar index page on my local server, so testing should be easy and it's not likely to be caused by the server. In this case it's not the first two files but the two PDF files listed.
Again, Save Link Target As downloads the file correctly.
In the Error Console, this is the only thing that could possibly be related:
(Oh, and actually it seems that computer has SeaMonkey 2.29.1 release, not "2.28.2-unofficial-1".)
That file does not exist...

According to server logs the 0-byte files were downloaded (or at least requested)

Is that DownThemAll?
If so, if you use Browser Built In or a different download manager?

OK, re-tried with latest development build - no difference.
Also re-tried in a clean profile with only FlashGot dev build, with same results.

Only other download manager I have AFAIK is Wget... and using that, this issue does not occur.therube wrote:If so, if you use Browser Built In or a different download manager?

DownThemAll (or just dTa) is a powerful yet easy-to-use Mozilla Firefox extension that adds new advanced download capabilities to your browser.
I don't know what to look for either, just thought something of help might be in there?

So no, you don't have dTa.

So Wget it is.

Does Wget have logs?
Or can you run it with logs?

Logging and input file:
-o, --output-file=FILE log messages to FILE.
-a, --append-output=FILE append messages to FILE.
-d, --debug print lots of debugging information.
-q, --quiet quiet (no output).
-v, --verbose be verbose (this is the default).
-nv, --no-verbose turn off verboseness, without being quiet.
-i, --input-file=FILE download URLs found in FILE.
-F, --force-html treat input file as HTML.
-B, --base=URL prepends URL to relative links in -F -i file.

Re: FlashGot Selection not downloading whole selection
That log was with the browser builtin download manager, where it didn't work...
I can run Wget with logs (--output-file=~/Documents/transfer.log), but again, this issue didn't occur when I used Wget...
So are you suggesting we look at Wget logs, or the FlashGot logs from using Wget with logging (or both)?

Re: FlashGot Selection not downloading whole selection
(I though the issue also occurred with Wget, but since it doesn't forget about the logs.)
FlashGot | Options | Downloads
Intercept all or File Extensions?
If File Extensions, set it to Intercept all & try again.
That could be one cause as to why not all files may be selected, but if they are being selected, should have no bearing on 0-byte files.
Alternatively, you can have File Extensions enabled, but then must disable Apply file extension filter to batch downloads too.

Re: FlashGot Selection not downloading whole selection
So I've talked with therube on IRC and it seems this is a Linux-specific issue (I'm on Lubuntu 14.04 64-bit) and a SeaMonkey-specific issue (works in Fx 31.2esr)...
Giorgio, any ideas?

Linux 32-bit with SeaMonkey "2.28.2-unofficial-1" (like Fx 31.2): Only one out of two PDF files is unvisited (not both)
Linux 32-bit with SM 2.29.1: same as Linux64+SM2.29.1
Linux 32-bit with SM 2.30: Everything works
So are we to conclude this is a SeaMonkey bug that was fixed in 2.30, or a FlashGot bug that only affects SeaMonkey < 2.30 on Linux?
