Atom feed error

Post by Mc »

I would like to use atom instead of rss feed, because it gives better performance, but just now I get an error and the atom feed doesn't work in NewsFox. The Feed Validator gives back:

This feed does not validate.

Is this related to NoScript? What happens if you disable NoScript?

What is the URL of the site where you are having trouble?

It's the NoScript forum feed, atom version.

The error seems to appear repeatedly, now on another post with a postlink. Again the duplicate attribute (rel=) error:

<a class="postlink" rel="nofollow external" target="_blank" rel="nofollow"...

Looks to be working for me.
At least the the "feed" loads & displays as expected.
I have not tried "subscribing" or anything like that.

Try with other extensions disabled.

No need to do so, because even SeaMonkey shows the feeds different, rss shows all (10) recent posts, whereas atom shows only posts back to the wrong one. If it's the first, it would show nothing.

Confirmed here, Atom feed is blank while RSS works. (this is just in SeaMonkey)

(I'd move this to Metaforum but Mc isn't registered and guests can't post in Metaforum.)

When I looked earlier, I was seeing ~10 posts.
The first of which I though odd, as it listed the entire contents of a

Code: Select all

 post (as it was).

Looking now, I'm only seeing two posts.

Is something different now in atom feed?
Today it shows the feeds, seems because this post shows links with only one rel= attribute:
viewtopic.php?p=72901#p72901

The bad site is, that these don't show up as clickable links in NewsFox, as they do in the rss feed there (and in other atom feeds, for example http://planet.mozilla.org/atom.xml , which has a completely different source, though ).

Still not solved.
My latest post links lead to a not working atom feed again.

The atom feed just works once again, because Giorgio Maone's posted link to the latest development build (in one of the latest posts) doesn't destroy the feed. But that means, that even that essential link appears in one of the most used feed readers, NewsFox, as plain text.

Sorry, I found a setting in NewsFox where it would show it as a clickable link in atom feeds. So it's still an issue of the kind of links, one working, one destroying the feed.

Which post(s) should I look at exactly for the malformed (double rel attribute) link?

i hope I can produce you one just now inserting links without using (url) (/url).

http://validator.w3.org/feed/check.cgi? ... ype%3Datom

And again an example, where the links work, here using (url)...:
http://planet.mozilla.org/atom.xml

The double attribute issue is fixed. I'm not sure whether there's anything else?
