I've accumulated a large whitelist over the years with thousands of entries. Just now I wanted to migrate it to a new laptop (Windows 8.1 Pro x64) via the export/import function (just the list, not the settings - doesn't make any difference to the problem, though). I did a clean install of FF30 and the latest noscript version and when trying to import the whitelist text file (~200KB) firefox just hangs up (doesn't respond even after 5 minutes). I managed to import a shorter whitelist (~100KB) which took some minutes and noscript works as intended - however, doing anything inside the whitelist settings tab (like scrolling) is a huge pain and leads to long hangups. It must be related to the list's length, since a short whitelist (like the stock one upon installation) doesn't cause any performance problems.
I never encountered any problems on Windows 7 machines with large whitelists, everything is responsive (import/export, scrolling through the whitelist), unlike under Windows 8 with otherwise identical settings. Does anyone encounter the same behaviour with large whitelists under Win 8? Can there be a difference between Win 7 and Win 8 how the list is managed and displayed?
