I can no longer use font color to make really important things stand out extra?
I had wanted to make the edit at the top of viewtopic.php?f=7&t=20062#p71752 a different color (specifically, bright red), but couldn't
Please restore the ability to use font color. I promise I won't abuse it.
TIA

Re: Font color triggers spam filter
I've read elsewhere on this forum that moderators aren't affected by most of the spam filter. Can you try it from a non-moderator account?
Also I tried it at the top of my post rather than the middle, and I didn't try to use bold as well.
ETA Let's see if I can post the same BBCode within code tags...
OK, so what I had tried first was basically:

No issues here, posting anon.

I did need to enter the captcha (which basically blew me away, though it did accept a 3-char number).

Re: Font color triggers spam filter
Thanks for checking.
Given that, I could only think of one possible reason for triggering the spam filter - so I decided to try changing my User-Agent to what you show on your anon post, Previewed a post with the "offending" BBCode (which didn't work before), and that got it. So I think I'll keep my UA for this site that way for a bit, if you don't mind
So I guess what I'm requesting is: Please don't make the spam filter stricter on OpenBSD users. TIA
EDIT Nope, that's apparently not it - seems it's something about that specific post that, when combined with font color usage, makes it look like spam...
I'm still keeping the UA string for a bit though.

Re: Font color triggers spam filter
Looks like in any case, this issue is indeed a bug in the spam filter. From viewtopic.php?f=14&t=8586#p38046 :
Tom T. wrote:...Nor should a size or color tag, at least for registered users. There may be additional restrictions for guest posters in that regard, but I don't remember it coming up as an issue.

Still broken.
Giorgio, I know that my ability to post colorful things on your board isn't your highest priority, but any news?

Not an issue as a moderator...
(or was there a change in spam filter?)
So, I think it's resolved for me, at least...
