[RESOLVED] Why no browser padlock on secure dev build d/l?
[RESOLVED] Why no browser padlock on secure dev build d/l?
Sorry, Giorgio, this is very minor, but curious. unofficial development build does indeed link to the secure site, https://secure.informaction.com/downloa ... .9.5.3.xpi. The certificate checks out properly and everything. But the .xpi is presented without any padlock icon anywhere on the browser or elsewhere. OK, I've verified it for myself, but for the sake of developing good habits of always looking for the padlock and perhaps viewing the cert, why doesn't a padlock icon appear anywhere?

Probably a Firefox issue, though I couldn't find any related bug report at Bugzilla: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/buglist.cg ... dlock+icon

The browser padlock is shown for documents, not for downloadable files.
You would see a padlock if the download page (on noscript.net) was secured as well.
However if the certificate was not valid, the https://secure.informaction.com download would just break.
