Flashgot freezes firefox during download

I'm finding often...not all the time though...that when I download something with Flashgot, Firefox freezes for a lengthy part of the download..sometimes until the entire video has played...and only then does the download start. It's usually after Firefox has been running for a while. On youtube and non-youtube sites.

On a mac running 10.9.4 with latest firefox.

What download manager are you using?

Just the built in Firefox downloader. It used to work fine 100% of the time. It was sometime in the past month or so that it started doing this, and like I said, not all the time.
