NS 2.6.8.15rc2 on SeaMonkey nightly (Linux). Sometimes, when reading topics on https://adblockplus.org/forum/ and returning to the board index page using backspace key to go back, there is a blank space below the web page that's the same size as the NS scripts blocked notification.
Unfortunately I can't consistently reproduce it, but if it helps, I always load that site in a new tab and scripts are forbidden.
EDIT: Also reproduced in SM 2.24 on Mac OS X, but there the blank space is slightly smaller than the notification bar.

Re: Blank space left behind by notification
Also happens on a clean profile, this browser/OS:
1) install noscript latest development build from that link
2) browse around adblockplus forum for a bit, read a few topics, use browser back button to get to index page a few times
You'll eventually see the blank "notification bar" on the index page.
Can't inspect it with DOMi, so maybe this is actually a Gecko bug?...

Nothing Allowed (otherwise you wouldn't get the scripts blocked notification at all).

But how do we know that its NoScript causing this
?

Have you noticed it anywhere else? Or with FF?
(In my case, I closed the tab, accidentally, then did a Ctrl+T to get it back, & it was a that point that I saw it - or didn't see it as it is-ish.)

Re: Blank space left behind by notification
It happened in a clean SeaMonkey profile with only NS, and it does not happen with NS disabled.therube wrote:But how do we know that its NoScript causing this?
It's definitely related to NS's scripts blocked notification bar, but as I said above I don't know if this is a bug in NoScript or Gecko.
Yes, but I'm not completely sure where. ABP forum was just one site where I could fairly consistently reproduce.therube wrote:Have you noticed it anywhere else?
Latest Fx I have on hand is v 28.0, so...therube wrote:Or with FF?
Fx 28.0 on Linux x86_64, new profile, installed NS, turned off browser auto updating and data sharing... and I had to show the add-on bar, move the NS icon to the add-on bar, and set about:config -> browser.backspace_action to 0 before being able to reproduce.
(IIRC it was happening without that in Fx 17 ESR...)
Now that you mention that, wild guess but maybe it's something to do with loading a page completely from the cache?therube wrote:(In my case, I closed the tab, accidentally, then did a Ctrl+T to get it back, & it was a that point that I saw it - or didn't see it as it is-ish.)

Re: Blank space left behind by notification
Hmm, now when I try to inspect it with DOMi it disappears... That really makes it seem like not a NoScript issue.
Marking as Invalid on that basis.
