No Script not working

Post by JD »

Fx 30; NoScript 2.6.8.33

Noscript was working fine when I got off the computer
when I got back on my Noscript Icon was no longer on the right lower side
but now on the lower left side and I can no longer click it.
I get no menu or anything. I uninstalled and reinstalled it no change
update to lated version and updated Fx to version 30 from 28 ( which 28 was working fine till now.)
still not working

Firefox 24 ESR
(uninstall your existing Firefox first)

EDIT changed link as Firefox 24 ESR is not going to be available on the original page soon

Does a Customize... Restore Defaults accomplish anything.
(Not exactly sure what a Restore does, so read up on it first.)

I tried reset also
reset firefox and reset no script
no change

as for unstalling firefox and reinstalling it
that would be last resort as I dont remember all the passwords for all the sites I use

Disable all other extensions except for NoScript & see if anything changes?

You can opt to keep your data during the uninstall. The next installed Fx can then use that data if it's not corrupted.

maybe but then all my bookmarks are not in the same location - it put then all in the same place
have tried that one before and you usually have to reinstall all plugins and extensions
it just is irritating that this happened

I have no toolbars installed I am very carefull about security
cant figure what could have changed No Script

Lower left/right of where? Of the "status bar"?
If so, how did it get to either of those areas as didn't Australis (or even before?) do away with the status bar?
Using a theme?

yes in the status bar - it has been there sense I installed it
I'm using firefox was v28 now v30
it's still down there it's just on the left side and I can no longer click it and get the menu
there is an Options button on the right side along with the X to close the status bar which is No Scripts bar

I've never had to do that when preserving data...
Back up your entire profile to an external storage medium (which you would unplug from your computer before uninstall/reinstall of Fx) if you're that concerned about it. Opt to keep your data during the uninstall anyway, and if the installation of Firefox 24 ESR borks every single copy of your profile on your entire HDD (has happened to me once before with Firefox 19.0.2, but that was on Mac OS X not Windows), you can restore from the backup. Should preserve passwords, extensions, as well as plugins data (the plugins themselves would be scattered about your machine and should not be affected at all by uninstall/reinstall of Firefox).

Also, you could try completely closing Firefox, then removing localstore.rdf from your profile (will reset toolbar customizations). Does that fix the NoScript icon?
