Since yesterday Youtube hasn't been loading correctly for me with the following problems.
- Videos don't load up at all leaving a black box in their place (right clicking is the same as right clicking on empty space, no flash related options)
- Related video list partially overlapping this black box
- Clicking on my profile image at the top right of the page does nothing, should have a small panel open up with stuff like the option to sign out
This has resulted in Youtube videos that are embedded in other sites to just show up as a black box as well. When I am on Youtube the NoScript icon shows that no scripts are blocked on the page though I feel that something may be up. Is this a familiar problem?

Restart in Safe Mode.
(Help | Restart with addons disabled)
If that works, then its likely an extension causing the problem.
If so, disable all extensions except for NoScript.
If it still doesn't work, then likely NoScript.
Do you have Flash enabled?

Before I start in safemode, how much of a hassle would it be to return to my previous settings with plugins enabled? I've got a few that I hope don't lose their settings or "progress".
As for flash, that's working everywhere else, just not on Youtube. and on embedded Youtube videos.

If Youtube is giving you the HTML5 video player instead of Flash for some reason, make sure that ytimg.com and googlevideo.com are (Temp-)Allowed
or if you're watching youtube video directly on youtube, try adding something like "&html5=0" to the end of the webpage URL

Re: I think I may have blocked an important script for Youtu
Well this is a bit embarrassing. While looking through my plugins I came across greasemonkey and remembered that I had Youtube Center installed. When I disable Youtube Center things are back to normal (though normal Youtube, I've been using YC for so long I've forgotten what Youtube is like without it)
I assume that NoScript is blocking Youtube Center somehow, the site looks much like how a site looks when certain scripts on the page are blocked. Is there a way for me to whitelist Youtube Center?

Re: I think I may have blocked an important script for Youtu
Ytimg.com was already added but googlevideo.com wasn't. I added that but no visible difference. I also tried adding the url extension to no luck.
I went to https://www.youtube.com/html5 to check the status of which player I was using and I switched back and forth between the default and HTML5 players. the only difference is that while I have the HTML5 player active I can use the Youtube settings button to access the settings as well as those for Youtube Center. When I use the default player that button doesn't work. Everything else remains the same both ways.
In Youtube Center I can change the player to default, flash and html5, refreshing the page after each of them does nothing.

Re: I think I may have blocked an important script for Youtu
When it fails, anything related in the Browser Console? (Ctrl-Shift-J)
Can you try replacing Greasemonkey with Scriptish, and if so, does that solve it? (might want to back up your entire profile first; also, will require migrating all your user scripts)
Is this a publicly available user script, and if so, can you please post the link to it?

I've found it pretty indispensable really considering it adds many features that Youtube should have added long ago such as an option to make videos always show at a fixed size, resolution of your choice and disable autoplay.
I checked the browser console but nothing stood out to me at all, I didn't notice anything related to players, scripts, flash, ect.
As for trying out Scriptish, I'd rather see if there are other possible solutions first if it looks like I will need a lot of work to fix this.

Re: I think I may have blocked an important script for Youtu
If you completely disable NoScript (Tools -> Add-ons Manager -> NoScript -> Disable -> Yes, remove ALL protections, then restart browser) does Youtube Center still interfere with Youtube?

Re: I think I may have blocked an important script for Youtu
Did it and there was no difference, seems that Youtube Center is the cause of Youtube not loading up properly then. I think it might be safe to rule out NoScript then as the cause of this. I guess I'll check their forums as well to see if others are having this problem.
For now at least I'll use Chrome for Youtube, at least YC works on there without problems.
