Help saving original file names on imagefap
Help saving original file names on imagefap
Hello everyone,
On imagefap.com, individual images are saved/renamed by the web site with a generic file name, and the original name of the file that was uploaded is displayed down beneath the pic on the line, aptly named: Filename.
I was wondering if there was any way (be it a Javascript inside FlashGot, or otherwise) on renaming the jpg's from the generic name back to its original filename, as listed below?
Thanks lots to everyone, and kudos to Giorgio for making such an awesome addon.
~FlashGotNoob
P.S.: I'm running it on Mac OS X with Folx as the download manager. If the latter won't do the job, but another one would (be it Speed Download, etc.), then I can switch based on your recommendation. Thanks!

Re: Help saving original file names on imagefap
What filename are you getting?
Coming down named as expected for me with Net Transport 1.94 (Windows).
A relatively clean link for testing, http://imagefap.com/gallery/2148711
(Oh, & I'm FlashGot'ing the thumbnail, FlashGot resolving <slowly> the download link.)
*"named as expected". Well coming down not all named alike. Not as "described" on the web page, so not "SexyWallpaper_056.jpg", but also not named as a (generic) "picture.jpg", but rather "1769809829.jpg".

Here's the answer:
http://flashgot.net/changelog
built-in download manager recommended to preserve file names
Doing so saves the file as "SexyWallpaper_056.jpg".
Code: Select all

Re: Help saving original file names on imagefap
Thanks lots therube! Works like a charm. When I was reading the front page, I was under the impression that FlashGot was meant to work only with a download manager (but has a huge selection of D/L manager software support). I didn't get the impression it was also self-sufficient on its own.
Thanks lots for setting me straight, and for all the quick replies!

Re: Help saving original file names on imagefap
Since taking the advice, things have been working great. Though I've noticed that whenever the original filenames have a slash "/" or a space in them, then it seems to throw FlashGot a curveball, and it falls back to using the default generic numerical filenames. I'm guessing there's a workaround for that using the Build Gallery feature, but can anyone point to a more specific walkthrough on solving this dilemma?
Original File Name (listed below the pic)
neatstuff/file001.jpg
neatstuff/file002.jpg etc.... would just wind up being saved with the 12847384830.jpg file name give by imagefap
In this first case, it tends to mean that the word prior to the slash is the file directory name (like chapter01 chapter02, etc.) Saving directory structure would be awesome, if that's possible. Otherwise, it might result in, for example, FILE001.jpg (and so on) being saved three times, once for each "chapter" or directory.
Such as:
neatstuff1/file001.jpg
neatstuff1/file002.jpg
neatstuff1/file003.jpg
neatstuff2/file001.jpg
neatstuff2/file002.jpg
neatstuff2/file003.jpg
neatstuff3/file001.jpg ........ and so forth
Same for:
neat pic 1.jpg <-- spaces seem to also throw it off and you wind up with an imagefap generic file name (44883939433.jpg)
Thanks so much!

Looks like imagefap decided to break stuff again, as it now save image(1).php, image(2).php, etc. instead of the actual graphics. Any news, patches on that?

Yes, on or about July 20, 2010 by my files, imagefap image links only download as generic image.php files.
Can only download by opening each individual image one at a time. Impossible!
Imagefap's forum has some complaints relating to this, but it still hasn't been fixed.

Re: Help saving original file names on imagefap
This will need changes in FlashGot which will be available in next release.
Could you point me a specific gallery to test (in PM, possibly)?

FlashGot 1.2.1.28 Set to "(browser built in)."
Download manager: Free Download Manager Ver. 3.0 Build 848.
Dear folk:
PROBLEM: After installing the FlashGot 1.2.1.28 UPD, Flashgot no longer downloads the JPEGS linked to the link in the user's gallery page.
Instead of downloading the JPEG file itself, Flashgot now downloads only the "'PHP" files connected to the link in the user gallery.
I get one "'PHP" file for every JPEG; and if I drag and drop the ".php" file onto my Firefox, the page opens with the JPEG, and other miscellaneous data, in the browser.
--------------------
Previously, when I was using a previous version of Flashgot with my Fx 3.5.11, in order to download an entire gallery from Imagefap, with original user filenames intact, all I had to do in Flashgot was to right click on the gallery link located on the ImageFap user's gallery page itself and choose "Flashgot Link;" at that point, Flashgot would gather up all the end JPEG files in the gallery (no matter how big the gallery was); then Flashgot would simply ask me the location of the folder to which I wanted the JPEGS downloaded; after browsing to the designation folder and clicking OK, Flashgot would download all the files with the original names intact (I have Flashgot set to use the "browser built in" option).
Flashgot never failed to download each and every file with the original file names intact -- not one single time.
Now, however, all I get are the ".php" files and not the JPEGs themselves.
This is reflected in the Flashgot log. It is pretty straightforward:

[Curiously, I did not get any "Win Bridge" information in the log on this attempt, although usually there is some information tacked on at the end of the log regarding a "Win Bridge" something or other.]
As you can see from the log, Flashgot is targeting the ".PHP" file for some reason and not going after the JPEG that appears on the ".PHP" page. So, something is knocking FlashGot off track. I have no idea whether it's my new Firefox, my new FlashGot, or whether Imagefap just decided it doesn't want us FlashGot folk hanging around its website.
My settings in FlashGot are as follows:
General:
Download Manager: (Brower Built In)
[ ] Overwrite
[ ] Shown in context menu
[x] Alt + Click = Flashgot
[x] Alt + Shift + Click = NO Flashgot
Menu
(Defaults)
DOWNLOADS:
Autostart downloads = yes
Intercept all downloads = no
File extensions = jpg (added by me)
Apply file extension filter to batch downloads too = yes
PRIVACY:
set to defaults
Advanced = set to defaults.
These are the same settings I always have used. The only addition I've ever made to the defaults is to list "jpg" in the downloads.
I tried setting everything in Flashgot back to "default" in About:config
and then changing only the file extension settings to just add the "jpg" extension.
I did remove the JPG file designation and tried it that way but got the same result: i.e., I get a folder full of "PHP" files and no JPEGS.
Anyone got any ideas as to what's ailing my Flashgot? Any known conflicts with the 3.6.8 Fx?
Like I indicated above, Flashgot used to just download these Imagefap galleries like a breeze.
Thank you for your kind consideration,
Nuncus

Same problem with spaces on imagefap.com gallery.
Using FlashGot 1.5.5.99 with (Browser Built In) download manager option.
An example gallery
http://www.imagefap.com/pictures/4323631/
Which is also reachable by
http://www.imagefap.com/pictures/432363 ... derneath-1
"Anastasia.jpg" is correctly picked up as "Anastasia.jpg"
"Adela 00.jpg" defaults to "whats-underneath-1-1.jpg", guessing it is due to the space between "Adela" and "00.jpg" since the same is true for other gallery pictures.
Thank you for an excellent add-on!
