cnet ads

Post by jo »

Lately I try to understand the practical use of Noscript in daily surfing and I have some questions. (in web banking is my only tool i use in a dedicated firefox profile and highly pleased with it)
One question I currently have is why in "http://download.cnet.com" ads from "http://googleads.g.doubleclick.net/" pass through?

because NoScript is not an adblocker, so even if you didn't (temp-)allow doubleclick.net the scriptless content requested from there would still load
*Always* check the changelogs BEFORE updating that important software!

Not all the ads are script-generated.
Some of them provide a scriptless image-only static fallback.
