Sorry to have wasted your time; it was as simple as selecting "Allow pages to choose their own fonts, instead of my selections above". Seriously, WTH!

Hopefully it wasn't a complete waste; now when a brainless starts asking about "icons", "sprites", or "f-number rectangles", they may mean "@font-face".
