Newbie to forum - Notifications?

Post by OldNick »

I am trying to work out how to set an auto trigger to subscribe to any thread that I contribute to, and to get email notifications of any replies, if that is possible.

I see a selection at the bottom of this, but is not auto. I have already posted on another sub-forum, and yet I am not subscribed to that thread.

Thanks for any help

Nick

This works for me.
User Control Panel > Board Preferences > Edit Posting Defaults > Notify me upon replies by default

Edit: I type faster, and in bold too! :P

User Control Panel -> Board Preferences -> Edit posting defaults -> Notify me upon replies by default: YES

EDIT: Alan and I were apparently typing simultaneously. ;)

The Notify me upon replies by default preference automatically subscribes you to any topics you contribute to after you set the preference. When viewing a topic, you can tell if you are subscribed to it by viewing the status of Subscribe/Unsubscribe topic at the bottom of the topic:
- A check mark in front of Subscribe topic means you are not subscribed yet
- An 'x' in front of Unsubscribe topic means you are subscribed.
