Firefox 27, using Flashgot with (Browser built in) download manager.
Previous versions of Flashgot usually worked correctly, with the video being grabbed without hassle.
Now, sometimes, what I get is a tiny SWF file, which I never click on to determine what it was. Sometimes, if I'm lucky, the second try gives me what I wanted. Other times, the only way it works is if I leave the Firefox downloads window open and try again, and then what I get is the video.
Why isn't there an Option to only let me have the file types I want, and no others?
The FAQ is hard to digest quickly, but if it's the Firefox internal download manager at fault, how can I fix it so I just get just what I want? And if it can't be fixed, what other download manager would work? I have no big needs. I see a video I want, I click the Flashgot button, if a dialog pops up I should hit OK, maybe reject duplicate streams if there are any, and that's all I expect I should need to do...

URLs where this happens?
You can pre-filter the download file types.
Options | Downloads | File Extensions, then fill in those you want.
And it could be that the particular files you're wanting aren't able to be gotten & what you're returned instead happens to be an .swf.
