[Resolved] Noscript menu vertical order of options mixed up
On one of the boxes, I am testing Aurora 29 to see what Australis can do, or rather how I can disable it completely it and use the classic looks.
As it turns out, before I added all sorts of extensions that fix the looks to the classic theme, the Noscript button was located in the top right corner, and the options in the menu were set in the expected way, top to bottom: domains list, untrusted, recently blocked items, temp allow all, etc.
I moved the button to the status bar, and the options remain vertically stacked in the same order, rather than the reverse. So the bottom option is About, whereas it should be the top option with the Noscript button in the status bar.
This does not happen consistently on all test boxes with Aurora, nor did it happen for some time with this specific instance. So I am wondering if anyone has a clue how to reverse the orders to reflect the button position properly?

Could you try Standard Diagnostic to check whether a specific theme or extension plays a part in the different behavior?

Re: Noscript menu vertical order of options mixed up
The big problem is - if I disable classic theme restorer in FF29, then there is no status bar. A chicken & egg problem.
The NS icon is then automatically placed to the right of the address bar, and it shows in the top-down order (as expected).
I must use the classic theme restorer and status-4-evar to get this effect.
However, this does not happen in all cases, even with the identical extensions setup.
And it happened after a few FF29 (Aurora) updates on this particular box.
Meanwhile, the other extensions also changed a little, so I cannot pinpoint any specific item.
I will gladly collect info, let me know what you need.
BTW, is there a way to reset NS settings within an existing profile? Uninstall of the extension won't work.

Your prefs.js file in a profile where the problem occurs and the minimum set of extenions is installed.Snoochie wrote: I will gladly collect info, let me know what you need.

Re: Noscript menu vertical order of options mixed up
The reset through the gui did not help.
I also tested the following.
Check vertical order in Aurora. Close browser.
Open Firefox with the SAME profile. Noscript button in the status bar shows correct vertical order. Close browser.
Open Aurora. Noscript button in the status bars shows reverse vertical order.
So something definitely changes in the way the button behaves on these two platforms.
Any convenient way of attaching files rather than spamming 65K of text in a post?

If you have a site to post it on - like pastebin - you can use that. Or you can send it to Giorgio in a private message (which also avoids the spam filter).Snoochie wrote: Any convenient way of attaching files rather than spamming 65K of text in a post?

The Addon Bar (restored) 1.5 behaves likewise.
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefo ... addon-bar/
Though perhaps its just the way they are "restoring" (emulating) the Addon Bar (Status Bar) that NoScript thinks it is dealing with something other then the Addon Bar, so reverses direction.
Oh, & nothing special with the Profile.
A new Profile, NoScript & either The Addon Bar (restored) or Classic Tab Restorer suffices.

Perhaps Noscript should check for the location within browser space?

Re: Noscript menu vertical order of options mixed up
I can confirm this behavior on Linux, with Firefox 29b1. It started the moment I upgraded from the 28bX builds.Snoochie wrote:On one of the boxes, I am testing Aurora 29 to see what Australis can do, or rather how I can disable it completely it and use the classic looks.

Snoochie, I'm curious about what extensions you're using to "fix the looks", as you put it. Could you give me a few pointers?

Re: Noscript menu vertical order of options mixed up
I've got the same problem using FF 29 beta 1 + NS 2.6.8.17 and 2.6.8.18 rc1 - the menu order is reversed. I'm also using Status-4-Evar (the lated development release works with FF 29) in order to have NS icon located in the status bar. I've tried playing with NS configuration but with no effect - apparently the cause is somewhere withing NS code.
