[Resolved] NoScript regression
[Resolved] NoScript regression
NoScript broke with recent update (ver. 2.6.8.15rc5): it no longer allows JS links to work (temporarily allow top-level sites by default doesn't seem to work), also Flash videos no longer appear within a clickable placeholder.

Yep sorry, realized there were already a bunch of posts in some of the other forum areas, with suggestions to update build. Got 2.6.8.16rc1 and now things are working fine.

Thanks, 2.6.8.16rc1 fixed it.

Re: NoScript regression
That's how I installed it initially I think, then it kept upgrading as soon as a newer version got released.barbaz wrote:https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/noscript/rihad wrote:An option to only perform an update when a non-RC version is finally released wouldn't be too bad...

Could it be that I first installed it from noscript.net? I don't really remember. Thanks for the tip.

Re: [Resolved] NoScript regression
I just did what you suggested - installed 2.6.8.14 from mozilla's add-ons site, and here's what noscript.net displayed in a new tab after restart:
Am I right that I shouldn't install from here because then firefox will keep updating to RC releases?Looks like you are running an older version (2.6.8.14), probably because latest version is not published on addons.mozilla.org yet.
You are strongly encouraged to
install latest stable version (2.6.8.15)

No, you're not.rihad wrote: Am I right that I shouldn't install from here because then firefox will keep updating to RC releases?
It's not about where you install from, but about the version number format: if it ends with .rc[some number] or .a[some number] or .b[some number], then you go in the beta channel. Otherwise, if the format is just number.number.number.number (1.2.3.4), you're on the stable channel.
An AMO bug, though, apparently switched lots of user on the beta channel with RC5, not sure how yet

Ok, thanks, updated to 2.6.8.15 and hoping for the best. Good luck with your investigation

Should the announcement be updated then?Giorgio Maone wrote:An AMO bug, though, apparently switched lots of user on the beta channel with RC5, not sure how yet

No it doesn't, actually.barbaz wrote:Should the announcement be updated then?Giorgio Maone wrote:An AMO bug, though, apparently switched lots of user on the beta channel with RC5, not sure how yet
After looking at some stats, I concluded there's no bug but just a lot (more than 100K) users "normally" in the beta channel, who account for the lots of reports.

Re: [Resolved] NoScript regression
Should noscript.net show a slightly different update message for people on RC builds? Something along the lines of "You're running a development build! Thanks for helping to test NoScript development, please check the forums (before posting) if something goes wrong, here's how to get back to release, etc"
