[RESOLVED] Needs Google Search have JS allowed now?

Post by Mc »

Since today google search results are not purged from the google part, if JS isn't allowed.
I can't remember having changed anything in my settings.

Seems it's worse, because it worked just two times with JS enabled. But so I can see the purged URL and see it jumping back to a google URL.

Seems q=ftp: is not working:

Otherwise... it's odd.
Kind of works. Mostly works. Perhaps there is a timing issue or something like that?

It looks like it is a regression in the current code.
(In that putting in 2.6.8.6, arbitrarily, it looks to work correctly.)

The Google issue is not fixed with rc4, though.

Weird, today I see different URLs in Google search, google links and direct links. But all work now again as direct links.

Because it still didn't work today, I tried going back to SeaMonkey 2.24.

NoScript generated direct links work in SeaMonkey 2.24.
It doesn't work any longer at least in SeaMonkey 2.25b2 and in final.
It doesn't work in Firefox 28 (see the quoted link).

I would like to understand better, what's happening.
Just now I tried again and it worked once, I got one direct link. All others are tracked and redirected.
