NoScript kills button panel

Post by gjf »

Hi!

Every time with updating NoScript I've expected problems with button panel - it disappeared. Several restarts of FF helped to get it back.

But now with latest NoScript update I cannot get it back any more and only total removing of NoScript helps.

Reverting back to the older versions of NoScript doesn't help.

Clearly you are using a custom theme of some kind, so it's not surprising if buttons vanish.

Does it work with the default theme?

Yes it does.

I am using this theme as well as NoScript about five years. So it's interesting that problems were waiting just for this time.

So - any news? As I said the problem exists with any theme including default one.

what other extensions/themes you got?
try create a new profile (installing and configuring only noscript) and/or Standard Diagnostic but keep noscript enabled the whole time
let us know how it goes, thanks

Hang on - I thought you said it works with the default theme. Did you mean "Yes, it breaks"?

Yes, it breaks. The buttons panel disappears with default theme, Noia, NASA and any other non-default theme.
The clean profile works OK, but after some reboots the problem appears - additional reboot restores the panel, but only for some time. So the panel disappears and appears again from reboot to reboot.

Some additional information: when I install NoScript and restore defaults settings it starts working (I mean button panel appears).
But as soon as I add any of my settings - the panel disappears. For instance I add "about:newtab" in white list - and after restart of FF there is no button panel.

Are you using Adblock Plus, in particular version 2.4.1, http://forums.informaction.com/viewtopi ... 640#p67640?

(Though I don't particularly see its icon in your screenshot. But to tell the truth, I'm not sure just what I'm seeing in that screenshot ;-).)

therube, you are my hero! Switched off AdBlock Plus and now everything is working fine! Thank you very much!

By the way I deleted AdBlock Plus and installed AdBlock Edge - and it looks like AdBlock Edge doesn't cause the issue. So it maybe a solution for those who want both AdBlock and NoScript.

The thread can be closed now.

P.S. Above mentioned is true for 24.3.0 ESR version only, because AdBlock Edge with NoScript kills button panel on version 27.
