We could do with some clarification of icons!

Post by nagan »

Though this concerns the board,I am posting in this section because, NS is why we are here!
There are varied icons here against messages...
1.Encircled Red .....Giorgio has participated there?

2.Encircled Blue......Not yet participated there perhaps?

3.With a star.........The user has contributed..This I could make out.

4.A few names in Green ....Forum Watchers/Policemen?

Can a legend be made at the bottom if possible....

After login ,the convenient way is to drop the user precisely at the page or thread he was. Here I find it redirected to the forum index :?:

Looks like ...

Code: Select all

Red star: thread in which the user has commented in.
So this thread would have a red star for both you & I.
      Red icon: unread items
Blue/grey icon: read

Err ...This thread does not belong here.Mods may shift it to its rightful place -Metaforum. Will be careful in the future.

Another one

I am not able to select a bunch of words and make them BOLD ,ITALLIC,UNDERLINED,COLORED at the same time. After every operation the cursor goes and sits at the end of the tag and subsequent operation is useless unless the words are freshly selected again.

Once again ,is it the behaviour pattern of the forum?

Sounds like a feature to me. Why make it too easy for those attributes to be overused. As you observed, just reselect the text for each enhancement.

Just in case anyone cares, I have noticed that when you try to BOLD, ITALIC, UNDERLINE, COLOR and so on and so forth, if you click them in order that you need them WITHOUT text already there, it will correctly bracket itself and nest, its only when you select a text THEN apply them that they are individual and go to the end, it assumes you want a single format change. Just in case that helps. I personally will select the tags before typing the text if I know that I want special formatting. Just sharing.
