[RESOLVED] 1.9.4.5 is Possibly Breaking ABP

Post by GµårÐïåñ »

It appears that 1.9.4.5 is breaking Adblock Plus because right after I installed it, my Adblock Plus blockable elements were not showing up. When NoScript was disabled and Fx restarted. And then immediately renabled and Fx restarted. The Adblock functionality comes back. So what is possibly happening here?

My post on the ABP forum can be found here and replies showing that Russian forums were reporting that in Linux, latest NoScript dev breaks the functionality of ABP. Until my discovery of the temporary fix/workaround they simple had to live with it. Please investigate to see why this is happening.

I discovered the issue. It is LocalRodeo that is killing both Adblock Plus and NoScript functionality. More so the Adblock functionality and to a slightly lesser extent NoScript functionality by interfering with permission settings.

Why in the hell are you using LocalRodeo?

Long story, it wasn't supposed to remain active, it was installed for testing and a proof of concept discussion and I forgot to uninstall it. My days have been hectic for reasons I won't bore you with and switching profiles left and right, it got left behind. Sorry.
